I actually read this on your FB but decided to come here, this was a little reminiscent of the Best Christmas Pageant Ever, one of my personal favorites. Now I'm curious, how long did you believe in Santa?

My parents officially told me the truth when I was 12 because a note that Santa left me to thank me for the milk and cookies/candy I'd left out for him used a pet name for me that only my dad used. But, I'd suspected since I was 10 but wasn't willing to give up the fun and magic just yet. All the years before that, I just refused to believe anyone who told me there was no Santa because, darn it!, I wanted to believe. I like my fantasies. Which is probably why I write fantasy.

Thanks! It's my favorite holiday memory. Always makes me laugh. I love reminiscing about it with my family because we always crack up when we mention my dad's and aunt's parts in the Nativity.

LOL. I'm glad you enjoyed it, Sarah. Would you believe after reading it, my aunt, the one who played the angel, said I was bossy back then? LOL. Me? Bossy? Nah!!! ;)

That's a great memory! We should've been pen pals when we were kids. I can tell by reading we would've been the best of friends. lol

Aw, what a great memory! I know you'll make this Christmas memorable, as well -- and I hope it's a beautiful one, even though you can't be with everyone you want.

Thanks, Robin. For the past 3 years, we've webcammed with my parents while we open our Christmas presents (even though we're 3 hours ahead of them) so that helps to lessen some of the distance. We'll be doing that again this year.
