“I know.” Esther sighed. “And I know I shouldn’t succumb to those silly 21st century labels you're always talking about. But he was my friend, and you knew that...and he used me, and you let him.”
“It wasn't like that.”
“That's how it feels, right now. And that's why I need to leave...to think.” Esther walked quickly to the car, not looking back.
