Great Fandom Go Kart Race, The Park, Friday afternoon

Jun 30, 2006 00:34

The Park had been transformed. It was currently set up as a large go kart track. The karts were in the northwest corner of the park, many of them with their drivers making some last minute modifications ( Read more... )

The Track [MONSTERS!] fh_extras June 30 2006, 05:46:17 UTC
And suddenly, a beast flew down out of the sky. Its hide was red, like the very fires of hell itself. It breathed jiggly destruction down upon the go karts, effectively destroying them because it's really hard to get that stuff out of mechanical equipment, especially after it hardens. The beast landed, showing off its translucent majesty.

A dragon had landed in Fandom.

It was made of Jello.

Cherry Jello, specifically, but his friends who were flying around in the sky were all sorts of different flavors.

After getting a handwaved call from Walter, Nadia came running down to the track, mallet at ready. She paused and goggled at the dragons, then charged forward again.

Her team might be out of the World Cup, but at least she could still beat something up.

The Cherry dragon took a few squishy steps in Nadia's direction, wondering what this girl thinks she's doing.

And then the dragon breathed Jello in her direction.

Nadia dove to the side, suddenly wishing she had a distance weapon. Then she blinked at what the dragon had breathed at her. Jello?

"This place just keeps getting weirder." She raised her mallet and ran in again, swinging for one of the jello-y feet.

The dragon's foot was squashed by the mallet, and it made a squishy, Jelloy sound of pain and anger. It hurt.

The dragon aimed this stream of Jello actually onto her. Ha.

Nadia dropped and tried to dodge, but still got jello all over her left side.

And apparently, moving through jello from the inside is pretty hard. Damn.

Fortunately, her malleting hand was still pretty well jello free, and she swung at the dragon again while trying to get her her left arm and leg free.

The dragon, now hit twice and not that happy with the way things are going, tried to step on her.

Which pushed her down onto the track, and made it hard to breathe for a moment. . . .

Nadia flailed against the gooshy jello foot, trying to break it apart with her hands.

Jello really is not a durable substance. The dragon's foot split in half, with one bouncy, gelatinny chunk falling off randomly. And without one foot to stand on, it fell over onto its side. Squishily.

Nadia coughed up a tiny bit of jello she'd managed to nearly inhale when the foot fell apart, then jumped over and ran at the thing.

It had gotten jello in her hair. Some things just couldn't be forgiven. She raised her mallet for a blow to it's head, expecting to knock it out, or something.

The dragon's head went squish, and it went still.

There may have been the occasional jiggle for a moment.

Nadia blinked. Then she started jumping up and down in victory.

This almost made up for her team losing.

Walter, covered in blue goo, picked his way down to the track to make sure Nadia was alright.

Let them never discuss his moment of near-panic when he saw her get stepped on.

Nadia, likewise covered in red goo, continued to jump up and down. "Did you see that? I totally got it, all by myself!"

"I saw." Walter watched her bounce and grinned despite himself. "You were brilliant!"

"I was! I rocked!" Nadia stopped bouncing to look at him. "You're all blue. Did you get one, too?"
