Stuff for Sale: as the doors open, 10am

Parker has an enormous latte in hand, her shades on, and her card primed. SfS doesn't have couture, but she's most likely *not* going to be buying for herself. And what the hell, it looks like the clothes they have are cute.

Lotsa lotsa lotsa clothes.

Jack has neither latte, nor shades, nor, if the truth be told, spare money for buying clothes, but he does have strong arms for carrying, bright blue eyes for watching, and an appreciation for pretty people enjoying themsleves.

"Parker! I heard you were planning on cleaning out the town, thought you might need a fetch and carry guy."

Parker's eyes light up. "And this is why we sing your praises, Jack-of-all-trades. I'm actually looking for--" She shuddered. "Bad shoes."

"Bad shoes?" To say Jack was stunned would an understatemnet of herculean proportions. "You're going to put bad shoes on those gorgeous feet?" Suspicious, he asked, "You are Parker, right? You're not under a curse or something?"

"I'm taking Survival in the Outdoors with Callisto. And unless I miss my guess? Any pair I've got will get ruined before the summer's over." Parker steeled herself. "Sacrifices must be made. In order to save the many, I have to wear the one bad pair. Gah!"

"Surely there must be a compromise? The good of the many may outweigh the good of the one, but it's the one you're going to have to be seen in." Jack shuddered. "I just can't see it, Parker. Think of the harm you'll be inflicting on others!"

Parker looked despairing. "Then find me shooooes, Jack! Shoes I can wreck without regret, yet wear with pride! Be my hero!"

"Oh yeah, then it'll be my fault you've got ugly shoes. You just want to blame someone else." He broke into a grin. "But for the chance to be your hero, I'll take the risk."

"Yes!" Parker did her victory dance. "And if I hate them too much, you know I won't wear them. So I absolve you of all shoe-related guilt in advance."

Jack laughed at Parker's victory dance. "Okay, okay, I know when I'm beaten." Shaking his head, he called over his shoulder, "I don't know why I even bother trying to resist you, Parker. You know I'm putty in your hands."

And with that he went in search of the ugliest pair of shoes he could possibly find a decent pair of outdoor appropriate shoes.

"Silly putty. Artistic putty!" Parker called after him, then went back to browsing, sipping her latte and humming happily.

Snickering, Jack returned a few minutes later, hands behind his back. "I have the perfect pair. They just scream you." He slowly brought his hands out from behind his back to reveal...these!

Parker stared.

She made the sign of the cross with her fingers.

Then she shook her head. "Are you trying to traumatize me? Permanently?"

"Maybe." Still laughing, Jack looked down at the hideous monstrosities clutched in his hand. "Maybe they're demon shoes? A perfectly good and pure pair of shoes driven into this grotesque parody of footwear by their tormented," he snickered again, "soles."

Parker groaned. "Okay, that's just wrong. You've converted shoes to the Side of Evil! For all we know, they demand blood!" She whapped him on the arm. "No, no, no!"

Jack ducked away from her, but waved the shoes in front of him for protection. "Beware, the evil shoes. You realise, if you buy evil demon shoes, they'll infect all your other shoes. Better be careful.."

"Crap." Parker stared at the shoes. "Do you think that could happen?" Because if so, she really couldn't risk it.
