Kathy looked down at the final number she'd come up with. There were four digits before the decimal point and that seemed a lot to spend on candy, even for a full month. She thought she'd done a good job at paring the list down, but could she really justify spending a thousand dollars on candy for a store that sold it mostly as a novelty item? Of course, she needed to get this order out today or else Dite's would be stuck with only the candy it had on display for another month and Valentine's Day had really wiped out the selection.

Maybe she shouldn't have been so quick to assume she could just step into the old manager's shoes, hmm.

Anyone coming in today would find Kathy engrossed in the very sexy job of going through old paperwork, inventory sheets, and budget records. Ahh, her glamorous life.
