Okay, Peridot had her rock-solid loaf of bread. She had the robot duck that she'd built last week. And she had--
"AMAZING!"
She had a sewing machine to repair, as though fate itself was embracing serendipity after her learning about darning and repairing hems in Home Ec class this week.
The duck and the bread were being totally set aside and forgotten today while she dissected the sewing machine, and then reassembled it from bottom to top. Faithfully, even. Whoever had brought this thing in to be fixed today would be relieved to find that it didn't also fly and pick up am/fm radio.
She was learning so much about clothesmaking this way!
"Nyeheheheheh..."
And once it was fixed and working, she was spending the rest of the day just stitching rags together to get a feel for how it worked. She'd totally say it was quality testing if anybody asked, though.
