Sparkle still wasn't over being turned into a kid the other weekend. It seemed like such a little thing, and he hadn't come to any harm or anything, but he hated - hated - being vulnerable like that, and having those vulnerabilities bared to the whole damn world ( Read more... )

"Your windows look like an 80's pride parade," Tony remarked, shaking off his coat. Because he was a great friend like that, Sparkle.

"The 80s were a proud and noble decade," Sparkle decided, shooting a grin toward Tony as he came inside. "And every day should be a pride parade, dammit. Mission accomplished."

Sparkle was clearly a man of discerning tastes.

"You're young enough to have nostalgia for the 80's," Tony replied.

Sparkle was young enough to have never seen the 80s, but he was going to keep that thought to himself.

"They were bright. And rad. What's not to love?"

"You saw my hair that one weekend," Tony pointed out.

And he'd never forgiven the Fireball, Sparkle. Never.

Sparkle just smirked a little bit wider at that, yes.

"Oh, did I ever."

Sorry, Tony. Sorry not sorry.

"You hair was about the only part of you that was ready for the party that night."

"I was young and dumb." Like that excused any of that perm.

Sparkle just grinned.

"You were young," he allowed. "It was kind of amazing."

He was so eager to be one of the cool kids! It had been adorable!

Tony made a face. "Young enough to be convinced to try Fireball."

Sparkle? Was totally grinning even more.

"It's better if you mix it with something. Apple cider and fireball is nothing to be ashamed of."

Sparkle also had very different standards from Tony's.

"I am introducing you to bourbon apple cider," Tony decided. For the fancy drinking time.

"... Is there cinnamon in it?"

This was a very important concern, Tony. The draw of the Fireball was the cinnamon, after all.

"It's a mixed drink, so you can add as much cinnamon as you want," Tony replied.

He was, however, judging you.

That was fine. Sparkle was very, very used to being judged.

"Well, then I'm in," he decided with a grin. "Name a time and place and teach me how to forsake my heathen Fireball ways, O Teacher."

"I'm doing this for your own good," he replied earnestly. Just ignore how he had to stifle a smile over it.

"Oh, so it's an intervention?" Sparkle wasn't even bothering to try to stifle his own smile, really. "Am I that hopeless? I might be a complete lost cause, you know."

Nah, Sparkle had discerning tastes when he could actually afford to do so. He just hid it well.
