Lachlan hadn't been happy to be left with a petsitter for the week, and was showing that by pointedly snubbing Anders.
Which of course meant that Anders was making himself crazy trying to win Lachlan over again. He set a dish of the expensive kind of cat food behind the counter, filled a cat toy with fresh catnip, and set about debasing himself to make the damned cat happy. The moment when Lachlan rumble-purred against his ankle was the happiest he'd been all day.
