Causeway, Sunday Morning

Yep, it was that time again: fall break. Atton dragged his luggage outside near the causeway, where they'd be waiting for the portal to show up. It was a nice fall morning, crisp but not cold, and if he was at all into enjoying the outdoors, he'd probably be happy right now ( Read more... )

Was Jonothon kind of excited about this trip?

Bloody right Jonothon was kind of excited about this trip. A man on fire going to a place where the main attraction consisted of spooky tales of ghosts and the like? It was as though the place had been made with him in mind. He was wrapped up for now, of course, because there was a difference between embracing a potentially amusing travel destination and scaring the ever-loving shite out of the locals, but he'd be lying if he wasn't planning on scoping out the place as soon as possible to see just what he could get away with.

Hannibal was looking forward to the trip, but mostly just amused at Jono's excitement at the moment. He doubted his own form of getting away with things would be particularly welcome, so he'd just help Jono with his.

//You know,// Jono mused, turning his excited look toward Hannibal, //this isn't going to do much to convince me to stop trying to pester you for a Halloween wedding.//

Look, at this point, if their weddings were going to be doomed anyway, he might as well have fun with the settings.

"Perhaps this week will help you get it out of your system," Hannibal suggested with little hope.

//Nah,// Jono replied, a glimmer of trouble in his eye. //If anything, it'll just get me more in the mood. Have I ever shown you pictures of my grim reaper costume? Scared the shite out of some kids back in Massachusetts in the woods once with that...//

What with the whole actual fire thing and all.

Hannibal chuckled. "I would have liked to see that."

//It could probably be arranged,// Jono mused. //I mean, I don't have that exact costume anymore, but even cheap discount masks are bloody terrifying in the right light, and I don't have to go cheap, anymore.//

He had more money than he knew what to do with. Which... was still unsettling. So.

Fortunately, Hannibal had any number of ideas about what to do with it.

"We'll have to see what our possibilities are," he said.

They were such wonderful role models.
