Steve, after a night spent righteously on a park bench because he didn't need charity from a guy who might've kidnapped him, decided to go to the pictures. Bucky had just been intending to take a stroll through town. He liked doing that more here than he had back home in Brooklyn - or at least for different reasons.

He'd been just considering seeing a movie when he heard the scuffle. It was a reflex cultivated over many, many years of Steve getting into trouble that he actually went ahead to investigate.

Then he stopped.

"-- the hell."

He hadn't actually expected to see Steve, you know.

That was just all too familiar. So much so that Bucky had just a second or so where he was almost sure he'd somehow taken a wrong turn right into Brooklyn.

... Well, Brooklyn some years ago, but still.
