The Brood that had invaded yesterday were gone today, portaled out to... somewhere. That was the good news.
The bad news was that the ship still loomed over everything. Maybe they would send a second wave of Brood. Maybe they would fire on the town. There was no way of knowing.
The worse news was that those who'd been infected yesterday would start to see changes in themselves today, if they hadn't already. As their bodies slowly became more Broodlike and they started getting thoughts that came from the Brood hivemind rather than themselves, it was only a matter of time before someone turned on their fellow Fandomites. They might not even realize that's what was happening to them...
