Fandom High 20 Year Reunion Mixer, Community Center, Saturday Evening

Much like the last time this event had taken place, it would appear to anyone who came to the community center tonight that whoever had been responsible for decorating for the reunion mixer actually had some taste. The decorations were simple - blue linen on the tables with gold flowers as centerpieces, and a notable lack of any tacky accoutrements

Sure, some people look the same, but it would still be nice to let everyone know who you are!

Raven wasn't going to put on an actual name tag -- the glue on those stickers always bugged her skin -- but she did shift a little to mimic one. Not that she expected there to be any other blue scaly women for someone to confuse her with, but this was Fandom. You never knew.

"Believe it or not I teach at the school. I'm doing a self-discovery course this summer. How about you?"

"Mechanic," Mercy said. "I have my own garage up in the Tri-Cities area of Washington state. It's small, but it's mine. And the bank's obviously."

Or Zee's really, but that was not something she was ready to explain just yet.

"Thanks. My mother will never forgive me for not continuing with my engineering degree, but she has mostly gotten past it," Mercy said with a grin.

"Yes, which is why I still live a good distance from her. I love her and her family, but it's easier to remember that from a distance. And the less she knows about things like this," Mercy nodded to her casted arm, "The better off we both are."

"I know just what you mean," Raven said. "I ran a good sixty years away from my brother for the same reason."

"Moping, last I heard," Raven said. "He was injured a while back by a friend, and it threw him pretty hard. I tried going back to check on him, but then he got on my case about abandoning him to do my own thing, and --" She sighed. "I feel sorry, but -- not enough to go back into hiding to live with him, you know?"
