How very embarrassing, to find one's self tired today in such odd little bursts. Leland Gaunt was more amused than displeased to discover that the vagaries of this island might apply to him; it was a curiosity, nothing more. In any regard, his shop was open, and he had such lovely trinkets to sell.

Hunh. Looked like the place had a new owner.
She wandered in with her shades on, checking out the merchandise, and keeping an eye out for anything worth... acquiring.

"Well, hello there! Welcome to my humble shop!"
His expression was open, easygoing, and suggested that he wasn't about to let her wander his store without first striking up a conversation. He wouldn't have any of it!

And he was very confident that he could be persuasive enough to make any one of the items he had for sale seem as though it was worth a very impressive sum, indeed.

"Oh, I have all manner of things," he agreed. "Charms that allow the wearer a sixth sense for items of value, a pocketwatch with an enchantment on it that lets the owner temporarily speed time in their direct vicinity. Presumably for people looking to run marathons faster, perhaps?"
Or to let somebody get away faster.

Some things didn't get to sit on the floor, after all, for people to trip over.
"You be the judge of that one," he replied, pulling out a ring and holding it up for her to see. "I simply can't account for aesthetic."

Kenzi leaned forward, cocking her head. Pretty. Delicate. Shiny. No jewels, no inscriptions, but still, kind of catchy-looking. But a ring was just a ring, unless it could do what he'd said.

Unseen. Unheard. Almost like superpowers. And she liked being human, thanks, but sometimes, around people who had lots of special abilities, it was hard not to feel a little behind the curve. This, this would just be-- evening the playing field.
"Of course, anyone can *say* something like that works..." Kenzi raised her eyebrows. "Would a demonstration be too much to ask?"
