Jono's gift wasn't actually all that impressive, at a glance. It was, after all, really only an envelope. But some of the best birthday-slash-apology presents out there could fit into an envelope, right?

This particular envelope happened to contain two Portalocity vouchers for a return trip to London (for Hannibal and whoever he so desired to bring along. Jono had decided not to presume and went for something that didn't need names on the tickets), complete with lodgings at the Café Royal Hotel, and a pair of tickets to take in the London Philharmonic.

He'd said he'd make it up to him, hadn't he?

Hannibal opened the envelope, read the vouchers, and smiled. "This is lovely; thank you. Do you have any particular preference as to my guest?"

And he meant that, too. He wasn't going to be completely heartbroken if Hannibal had somebody else in mind, though at the same time, he'd actually be a little thrilled if he was the one to get the invite.

Hannibal feelings were complicated feelings.

Bob couldn't really do presents, for the obvious reason. So he settled instead for writing in the air above them:

That was a totally touching and classy thing to do, right?

And in the middle of the pool table there did appear a single, dignified little copper balloon, tied to the lid of a jar of zap apple jam straight from the Apple Family farm in Ponyville. The card had Granny Smith's own recipe for apple brown betty and a warning not to use up the jam too quickly, as the process for production was really remarkably involved, and that Pinkie wasn't certain that Hannibal was quite ready for jumping around his kitchen in a bunny suit.

Hannibal eyed the jam curiously, dying to know what was in it, with those colors. "Thank you," he said to Pinkie, smiling.

No, he wasn't going to don a bunny suit any time soon. But he'd enjoy the jam he had.

Rinoa being sick meant that Squall had been the one to buy Hannibal's present. Sorry?

Squall knew that Hannibal was really big into food... things, so Hannibal was getting a gift certificate to Outback Steakhouse.
