Hey, guess what! The bar was still open, the band was still playing, and romance was still in the air. Wait, that was the smell of booze. They're almost the same thing

Atton... hadn't gone on any dates, sorry. He was just still here, nursing that same glass of whiskey he'd now taken three sips from and some facial hair that had gone from 'two-day no-shave' to 'five-day maybe-we-can-call-it-a-beard'.
At least he'd been vaguely amused by everything for the night.

"Hey there," Jessica said taking a seat by Atton. "I'm surprised to see you here." She had a very slight smile on her face while she signaled Tino for a drink. What that smile meant was probably open to interpretation.

"You're welcome," Atton said, holding up his glass of whiskey in mock-salute. "Yeah, long story short, I got out of that, spent five or six or maybe seven years out in space, and then this Jedi happened and I think I lost my mind or something. The end."
Re: The Bar [post-dates]craftyladypartsSeptember 20 2014, 19:59:56 UTC
"Okay, dumb question since it was kind of glossed over. Does that mean you're still a space fugitive or not?" Jessica asked. "If you are, I'm not going to beat you up and take you in right now or anything so you can be honest."
Re: The Bar [post-dates]suitablyheroicSeptember 20 2014, 20:02:50 UTC
Atton rolled his eyes. Look, Jess, he glossed over things for a reason, all right? "No, I'm not a space fugitive," he said, "which is a dumb phrase, by the way. Appending 'space' to everything doesn't suddenly make it more topical."
Re: The Bar [post-dates]craftyladypartsSeptember 20 2014, 20:16:53 UTC
"Hey, hey, hey, don't get your space boxers space tied into space knots," Jessica said. "All I really wanted to know is if there was going to be any kind of a problem with you being here. I figured things were okay because otherwise Sia and Dean Skywalker would be kicking your tuchas all over town. But hey, you were right here, so I figured I'd check in."
Re: The Bar [post-dates]suitablyheroicSeptember 20 2014, 20:20:41 UTC
"No, we had another war and a half since I left and pretty much everyone who wanted me arrested is dead, so that works out nicely for me," Atton snarked.
Re: The Bar [post-dates]craftyladypartsSeptember 20 2014, 20:27:52 UTC
"I'm not sure if that's good or bad overall," Jessica said. "But as long as you're behaving yourself from here on out, I'm not going to raise a space stink."
Re: The Bar [post-dates]suitablyheroicSeptember 20 2014, 20:29:43 UTC
Atton rolled his eyes again because-- well, because. "I never actually misbehaved while I was here, sweetheart," he said. "It's not like I sent the Sith my address."
Re: The Bar [post-dates]craftyladypartsSeptember 20 2014, 20:38:22 UTC
"You were hiding out from the law," Jessica said. "And apparently the Sith, too." She'd never heard the full story, no. "It's shenanigans at the very least. Personally, I still put it under 'misbehaving.'"
Re: The Bar [post-dates]craftyladypartsSeptember 20 2014, 20:58:26 UTC
"Sounds like that's a more achievable life goal now," Jessica said. "I actually do hope things work out for you. And that you're sober enough to enjoy it if it does."
