The place might've once had a name -- might even still have one -- but as far as Eliot was concerned, it didn't need one. It had enough shadows to sink into after a job and the blackest coffee in town, and that was just fine for him

"Well, I could have the wrong guy." Dinah sat down across from him, and put down the photo Momoko had given her. "Although, the resemblance is uncanny. Not too many mugs like this one floating around."
"That would be an important message," Boz said. "Save for the fact that his father's an ass he wouldn't piss on if he were on fire, and he's an only child."
Dinah couldn't help the grin, and then tucked the photo back in her jacket. "I had wondered about that. There was a lot about that dame that just didn't add up. But I had to satisfy my curiosity." She tilted her head. "And I wanted to meet the guy behind the picture."
Dinah couldn't help giving him a wicked smile back. "Well. If you run into him? Let him know there's a dame, goes by Momoko; red hair, great legs, Japanese extraction-- looking for him. It'd be a shame if a pretty face like his got roughed up by some moll."
Momoko was strutting past, fresh from her incredibly frustrating and confusing conversation with the guy who was claiming to be the twin of her mark. This job was getting hinkier by the minute and she wasn't sure how much more she could take.
"Ah," she stumbled, her heel twisting lightly. "Oh no." Maybe this guy was a just a jinx.
Momoko was trying not to swear lightly under her breath as she put a hand to the chair. A twisted heel meant she wouldn't be able to run if she needed to.
More importantly her shimmy was going to be off and she tended to need that on jobs more often than the ability to run.
"A jinx. That's the only explanation." She cast a quick glance at the table the chair had come from, giving a brief smile of thanks.
So far, the coffee house had proven a good place to just fade into the shadows. No one knew him and no one cared.
Just the way he needed it.

He slid out a chair with his toe, managing to aim it precisely where she'd be able to lean against it.
