The Android's Dungeon, Wednesday

May 07, 2014 18:25

The tables and chairs had finally come in, and were here to stay.

The new clerk was now insisting that he be called "Tinu" -- thanks, Josh! -- but it was a small price to pay for having someone not actively undermining Squall's plans for the store. Together, Squall and Tinu had carried shelves, carousels, and cardboard displays to the edges of the store, clearing up a large central area.

Before they could set the tables up, however, a loud barking came from outside the store. Angelo rushed in, barked excitedly, and began digging at the floor in the middle of the room. Shreds of carpet and splinters of wood went flying everywhere. Before Squall could even yell at her to stop, she recovered a metal lockbox from the hole and tossed it to him proudly. Squall looked from the box, to the hole in the floor, to Angelo's adorably self-satisfied expression. "...Good girl?" Angelo barked happily and ran off again.

One deft swing of Squall's gunblade clove through the box's lock without damaging the contents. It was full of comics -- old ones, many of them first editions. "Those are very valuable," Tinu offered helpfully.

Squall just grunted noncommittally. He was still going to have to fix the floor.

"I shall name a meta for Lillipup after her," Tinu added.

On the door there were two signs:
