Fandom Post Office, January 28 (Tuesday)

Jan 28, 2014 10:19

They were getting more common now, those brief glimpses of people and overheard fragments of conversations, weren't they? Éponine didn't mind, exactly; more often than not she thought they were entertaining, or at least a momentary intriguing distraction, even if it was strange having things like this happen when she was lucid and not mostly delirious from hunger.

This morning, she'd barely arrived at the post office and in fact hadn't even gotten around to unlocking the front door when she was privy to the sudden appearance of two NPC patrons in the post office lobby, arguing loudly about which of them deserved the last book of stamps more. The argument escalated into a fistfight while Éponine stood with one hand on the key that was half-turned in the front door lock, but just when the fight really started getting interesting, the entire scene faded out of existence.

"You're both very stupid," Éponine informed the now-empty lobby in a loud voice, "but I'd at least have liked to see who won."

Oh well. She finished unlocking the door and flipped the sign to OPEN, then adjusted the NOW HIRING sign in the front window that has totally always been there, I just forget to mention it.
