Cade finally remembered that he had a job and wandered into Stark to a huge stack of old, broken iPods.

Apparently people had gotten new ones over the holidays.

He got out his multitool and began repairing them--making sure to mock all of their taste in music as he got the machines to show him their contents.

Jim had come into town to get something to eat so stopping in to Sparky's wasn't out of his way at all. He'd just pop in for a visit because he was totally a nice guy.

"What's up, ugly?" Jim asked as he strolled in, grinning.

Cade grinned back. "Nothing I'm going to karking tell you about," he declared. "You'd want to cut in on the action."

"Seriously?" Jim feigned astonishment. "What do you take me for, Cade? An opportunist? Why I never!"

Cade snorted. "I'm terribly sorry to have hurt your karking feelings."

[kirked]

"You should be," Jim told him, slapping a hand on the counter. "Make it up to me immediately, Cade."

Cade smirked at him. "You're not my type."

No one had apparently told Cade there were non-sex ways to make up to people?

"Is everything about sex to you?"

Not that Jim was that different, mind you...

Cade thought about it, then shrugged. "Basically."

"Has it been awhile, Cade?" Jim asked teasingly. "Feeling a little sexually frustrated?"

Cade laughed. "There were twins this weekend. Didn't even make it back to the island until class today."

"You're getting old," Jim quipped because that's what he got out of Cade's boasting.

"You're just jealous I didn't invite you along," Cade decided.

"Natalie would kill me if I got invited along," Jim told him, shaking his head. "She's possessive."

Cade's eyebrows rose. "You have a thing now?"

[kirked]

"We've had a thing for awhile," Jim told him, shrugging. "I told her I wouldn't sleep with other people. And it's a good decision because you think you might know Natalie but you really, really don't."

"Oh, I never thought I knew Natalie," Cade said with a smile. "That's what I liked about her."
