The Perk | Thursday Morning

Well. Like goblin looking things wearing party hats is a new one, but if they weren't getting near his coffee then Isaac couldn't complain. His money situation was still non-existent but he found Stiles was more than willing to lend him some if he looked adorable and gave a vague threat. So thanks for the latte, Stilinski ( Read more... )

Isabelle had not been so fortunate when she'd taken a seat by her desk this morning to put on her makeup. Those were her favorite pajamas! She had not been amused by getting cake on them.

So that might have explained the displeased air about her as she showed up at the Perk in the hopes of decent coffee. And the death glare she gave to the party hat wearing gremlin that tried dashing across the doorway when she was entering.

Of course that could have just been part of her natural Shadowhunter disdain for certain kinds of lifeforms. "Out of my way." Apparently the gremlin thought getting skewered on one of her heels would put a damper on its party mood, since it scurried away quickly.

... She was going to conjure up a less pissy expression on her face once she'd actually spot you, Isaac.

There was something about a demanding girl in heels that put a smile on Isaac's face. He stayed where he was, but all of his focus was on Isabelle. Okay, Isabelle and the cake. It was good cake.

The barista didn't seem to share this fondness for demanding girls. Actually, he seemed a little intimidated. But he didn't screw up her order of vanilla latte, so he wasn't in any immediate danger.

And then she finally turned around and, yes, spotted Isaac.

And there was that little smile. "Oh, hi."

"Hi," Isaac said. "Having a rough day?"

"No." Liar. "Although I guess the island is up to its little quirks again. Notice how I didn't try ordering any cake."

Her pajamas.

"Yeah I got this one for free," he said, being nice and not calling her out on her lie. "Almost sat on it, actually."

Yeah, the little face Isabelle made suggested she hadn't been quite as lucky. But it was a cute face. That's why she didn't suppress the urge.

"I don't trust food that appears from nowhere."

Isaac looked down at the partially eaten cake in front of him. "Well I feel fine."

Isabelle eyed the cake, then shrugged her shoulder, taking a sip of coffee.

"Well, if at any point you start feeling the uncontrollable need to run naked through the streets of Fandom, do let me know. I'll be sure to take pictures and make you a cautionary tale."

"I don't need cake to want to do that." Actually, that was a lie, he tended to keep his clothes on more than the average werewolf. "But I'm flattered you would want to take pictures."

"I have eyes," Isabelle pointed out. "Even though some of it would still be plain blackmail material."

"Blackmail material," he repeated. "What would I have to do in exchange for your silence?"

Isabelle smirked as she moved to take a seat at his table. And yeah, she checked the chair this time. "Hmm. I'm not sure, but I'd come up with something."

"It's probably better if you put some thought into it," he said with a nod. "That way you could come up with something really terrible."

"Such little faith in my capacity to be terrible quickly," Isabelle quipped. "I'll have you know, I've only been here five days and I've already been accused of terrorizing people."
