Jess had spent last night in the hotel, and now today she was on the hunt for somewhere to live. And oh, look, a house!

"Nice place you got here," Jess commented to the scary guy wearing metal. It was okay, she'd just talk nice to him.

"Yes, I do," Doom said. Why was she still standing there? She should at least be cowering i fear or being automatically hostile. "Thank you."

"Doomhaus," she read, speaking in a deeper voice, because you couldn't read that in a normal girl's voice without sounding ridiculous. "Think I can go for a tour? A name like that, it's gotta be interesting."

"It is simply a regular mansion," Doom said. "I only just renamed it after myself. As of yet, it has nothing to match the majesty of its name."

"I bet I could help," Jess offered.

"How do you propose helping Doctor Doom decorate his house?" Doom asked, intrigued that somebody WOULD EVER DO THAT.

"Oh, you know, start with a little paint and some minor renovation stuff-" AKA Things Jess Saw On Pinterest. "-and it'd be up to snuff in no time."

She did kind of think he needed to change his name, though. It was a liiiittle intimidating to people, probably.

Normally Doom would object. But he had met another small, dark haired female earlier who he wanted to spite out of petty annoyance. "What is your name?"

"Oh, right! Jess. Jess Day," she said, sticking out a hand for him to shake. "Nice to meet you, uh, Doctor Doom... Do you have a first name?"

"Refer to me as Doom," Doom said as his metal gauntlet met her hand and shook. "I will listen to your thoughts on improving the property. Money is no object in improving Doomhaus."

"Okay, great!" Jess hadn't meant to end up in a project this big, but she wouldn't turn one down! "I can take a look around, see if there's anything that jumps out at me, if you have any available guest bedrooms, and start brainstorming."

"There are countless bedrooms. If you need a place to reside, you may choose from any but the master suite," Doom said.

Jess looked even more excited, because this was the easiest way to get a place to live ever. She didn't even needs Craigslist! "Perfect!" she said. "That'll make it so much easier. And I swear, I'll be so quiet, you won't even know I'm there."

She sang a lot, this was a total lie.

"You will be held to that," Doom said. "Let me know if there is anything you need for your accommodations or the renovations."

"Great," she said, and added, "Uhhh. Don't suppose you want to help me move?"

"No, I do not," Doom said. "I've been told that this town is filled with 'good people.' Surely, you will be able to find one to help."
