The park, Friday evening

Mar 10, 2006 18:25

Only two days later than she wanted and three days before Franklin wanted, an odd little ship set down in the park, a safe distance from the pond. There was no dramatic pause, as Ivanova was almost scrambling in her haste to get out. Of course, Zathras was grumbling about that.

"Zathras just doing what Zathras told, no need for Ivanova to run . . ."

"I'm sorry, Zathras," Ivanova sighed, rolling her eyes. "I just want to get back home. Thank you for the ride."

"Yes, yes, thanks for Zathras, someone remembers finally," Zathras said, hauling Ivanova's duffel bag - considerably lighter than it had been when she left - out of the ship and setting it down beside her. "The One tell Zathras to make sure you stay safe and healthy." He shook a finger in her face. "Zathras watching you."

Ivanova smiled. "Right. Well, goodbye Zathras."

"Yes, yes, goodbyes for Zathras . . ." Zathras was muttering as he turned and entered the ship again, the hatch sealing behind him. She even waved for good measure as it zoomed away, tracing an erratic zig-zag through the sky. Ivanova chuckled as she straightened her uniform jacket and grabbed the bag, swinging it over her shoulder easily. There was no sight of sling or even the slightest discomfort in her arm or leg as she strode away. The cane she still had, tucked away in her bag at the order of Franklin, for use when she was, as he said, "being yourself and overstressing your knee".

Ivanova glanced up and around at Fandom, glad to be back. There was something about the open air that she hadn't realised she missed. Now, the practical thing to do would be to get back to the dorms and drop off her stuff. But what she really wanted to do was find 'Dora. Easier said than done, as the only time she had been to her apartment had been via broomstick. Wonderful.

[[She's baaaaaack. Distraction from her Tonks-hunt welcome.]]
