Once Jaina had class over with and had gotten herself settled (...okay, after a few hours of training) after getting back from her trip, she headed on over to the Perk, because it was going to take some caffeine to stay awake till a normal time.

"I'm not sure I've seen you out in the wild before," she greeted Jake as she waited for her drink.

"Hey now," Jake put on a wounded expression. "A man has to eat, you know." A man typically ordered delivery, actually. But details. "And sometimes I just need a good cup of coffee." And sometimes he ended up with a raspberry mocha, completely unintentionally.

"I can't argue that last part," Jaina said, nodding towards the barista working on her drink. "...Or the first, actually. How've you been?"

[shagthis]

"Not bad," Jake shrugged. "Did the three minute dates thing even if the player failed miserably and didn't end up in the duck pond, so... calling it a success."

[solo_sword]

"Congratulations. I had almost managed to repress that event," she realized. Oh, the benefits of a committed relationship.

"I was gonna say I couldn't picture you enjoying a thing like that, but I suppose that'd explain the need for repressing," Jake realized.

[solo_sword]

"It wasn't so bad when it was just meeting random people you might talk to once in a while," Jaina said. "But it also brought out some strange people, and I have thrown drinks in people's faces before."

"Now that I can picture ye doing," Jake had to admit.

[solo_sword]

"Thank you?" she asked with a slight headtilt. She was taking it as a compliment, but she wanted to see if it was intended as one.

[shagthis]

"That was totally a compliment," Jake assured her. "You don't take anyone's shit. I respect that."

[solo_sword]

"Thank you," she said with a smile. "It makes life in general a lot easier."

[shagthis]

"Well, yours," Jake had to point out with a smirk. Mostly because while he'd been on the receiving end of many people's wrath, he'd somehow managed to avoid Jaina's. It was actually kind of nice.

"Well, yeah. What, is it supposed to work that way for everyone else?" she teased, taking her drink from the barista.

[shagthis]

"One could argue that we're all supposed to get along and exist in peace and harmony and blah blah blah," Jake shrugged. "Personally, I think that sounds boring."

[solo_sword]

"And it would never ever happen." Said she who'd been through four wars now.

[shagthis]

"I'm not sure if I should be relieved or depressed by the fact that for once someone can't say I have unrealistic expectations," Jake mused.
