Right. Three girls in a row. Bay gamely stirred the ice in her drink.

"So what brought you out today?" she asked, when Marasiah sat down. "'Cause so far I'm really glad I wasn't seriously expecting to meet a guy."

"Apparently I picked the wrong night to get out and got signed up somehow," Sia told her. Having done this before, it wasn't a big deal to her now. "I'm assuming that means you wanted to socialize?"

Bay wrinkled her nose. "Socialize sounds a little like they let me out of a cell to do it," she said. "...but pretty much, yeah. I've been single a while, so this seemed like a decent way to dip my toes in again."

"Teensy tiny bit," Bay agreed. "But it's not like I'm offended to get to meet some girls, too."

She sipped from her soda. "So what do you do for fun besides this?"

"I know a few people who would say 'not enough,'" Sia admitted. "I'm fine with going to a common room, at least until someone decides I need to get out more and then I see where that takes me."

It took her to metal bars, that's where.

"I tend to hole up in my room a bunch," Bay said. "But yeah, common rooms are the place to go for snack food and horrible movies."

She was in favor of both of those things.

"I try to avoid the horrible movies. And yet they're almost always there..."

She'd take it over a gremlin striptease, though.

"Maybe it's a lowest common denominator thing," Bay suggested. "If a movie's supposed to be bad, everybody hates it equally."

The buzzer sounded, and she went to stand. "...and that's our three minutes. Nice to talk to you."
