The subject of Caritas had come up last weekend. Having had no immediate calls back to service, Kaidan figured it wouldn't hurt to stop by just the once again.

Admittedly, this hadn't been the set-up he'd expected... but it wouldn't keep him from ordering a beer or anything.

Emily was surprised to find the bar with such a...setup which meant the mun has no idea of how do you sign for this thing.

She decided to stick around and amuse herself with the people dating, at least. And get her drinking on.

"Getting ready for the dates, or just enjoying being a spectator?" Bruce asked, waving his drink vaguely to indicate Emily's. For some people, alcohol was very good at encouraging them to go through with speed dating.

[OOC: Sorry! There was a sign-up post in fhplotterywheel a couple weeks ago and a couple reminders during this week that sign-ups were closing on Wednesday. But have a conversation with Bruce as a consolation prize!]

"Too shy for speed dating. Maybe next time," said Emily as she raised her own drink at Bruce. Hello pretty. "I have to admit though, now that I'm sitting on the sidelines I feel a bit angry at myself." But her flawless smile was still there.

"There's no need for that. Once the dates start, it only takes about twenty minutes before people make their way back here. And after that, you can have your pick of people who didn't make a good match," Bruce said. Clearly, he'd given this some thought.

Clearly he had. "Where were you when I needed a coach in my love life?" asked Emily half jokingly, half seriously; yes, she was that much of a mess. "Picking on the poor people that got paired up with someone they did not enjoy at all...you do know all the tricks." If only her pride made the whole thing sound like getting (not so sloppy) seconds, though.

"Off at college, most likely," Bruce said. "Bruce Wayne. I graduated from Fandom last year by the island's timeline. And I did this event enough times to pick up a few things." And several girls. Ahem.

"Well that's a shame, but good for you, I guess," said Emily taking another sip. "Emily Thorne, just started this term as a Junior. Thoroughly shocked by the crazy. So a year has passed here...and how many have passed for you?" Emily smirked; she didn't need further explanation to figure just how many things he had picked up.

"Just over two years," Bruce said. "I have to say, when you ask questions like that, it makes it sound like you're at least adjusting to the crazy. That's the important thing."

"Hey, I'm particularly stubborn about letting multiversal nexus get the best of me. If the superpowered people can do it, plain simple me should at least give it a try," said Emily. It at least let her sleep relatively in peace; she could still wake up as a guy, after all.

"That's the attitude I tried to keep when I was here," Bruce said. "Of course, I generally dealt with things better than even my more unique classmates. Adaptability is the key to surviving around here."

Bruce raised his glass to clink the glasses together. "You certainly seem to have a good head on your shoulders. I think you'll end up doing just fine here."

"Good to know, because I have things to do back home." Things to do, people to ruin, basically the same thing. "So you came back just to host this little thing?"

"It's the middle of summer for me, so I didn't have anything better to do when the offer came along," Bruce said. "Plus, it's always nice to see old friends. Maybe make some new connections."
