Tonight, the lights in the restaurant were all turned off, turning each table into a private island that extended only as far as the light of the small candle lighting it. The sweet smell of roses filled the air, mixing with the mouthwatering aromas wafting from the kitchen. The dishes's usual song-and-dance routines were set aside for the evening, replaced by soft violin music and the occasional ballad.
The Salt-Cellar and Pepper Pot were standing in the kitchen door, surveying their handiwork proudly, when Porthos came up behind them and threw an arm across each of their shoulders. "Ahh, love!" he sighed wistfully.
