Monday had been devoted to dragging herself to class and then back to her room to sleep, so it wasn't until Tuesday that Karla managed to get to the store and open it back up. She patted the as-yet-unnamed-rooster (dammit! Where were those votes?!) and stepped inside, making sure that everything appeared to be in roughly the same shape as when she'd left.
For the most part, the store was exactly as she remembered it--all except for the
big stack of
letters on the counter next to Little Strife, the cash register. That was odd. They got random deliveries all the time, but rarely ever mail.
Confusion turned to excitement when she opened the first and saw they were from 'Dite! 'Dite who was apparently on some kind of time-adventure, keeping Ares from wrecking history. And that excitement turned back to confusion after she'd finished reading the letters and sat puzzling over the little drawings on the envelope; the drawings next to dried blood and the feeling of magic. The blood was far too old to try to get anything from and 'Dite's magic didn't work like her Craft, so she was left to puzzle over the funny little pictures instead.
'Dite's was open, but with a decidedly studious bent.
