Ah, the first day of rehearsals at the Boards. It was just the sort of thing to make Jono show up looking... if not happy then at least slightly less grumpy than usual, with a stack of scripts in his arms complete with sheet music. Grab a script, make yourselves comfortable among the theatre seating, try to ignore the growing pile of brutalized dolls with crowbar-shaped blunt force trauma damage on them.

There's water with lemon in it today, and oranges, because while you don't really particularly need to worry about presentation today, it's cold season, and your directors are strictly anti-colds.

There are also a few spare crowbars, in case you feel like you might need one for the walk home later, because Jono is also anti-creepy-dolls.

Vincent had a bag of muffins with him, just in case anyone wanted some carbs to go with their vitamin C.

Annie grabbed a script and found a spot that she felt was well-lit enough to see if anything small and creepy was sneaking up on her and settled in to read.

Poor thing should have maybe done her research and rented the movie before now, because her eyes were getting really wide.

"Hi," Petra said, sidling up next to Annie. "Want to walk back to the dorms together? Safety in numbers and all that? Because I have seen a few horror movies in my time and I don't want to be killed by dolls so please say yes."

"Yes," Annie replied immediately. "I swear something was singing to me the whole way here. At first I thought I lost my mind, but then I saw a walking doll and knew I was sane."

That sentence would not be sane anywhere else.

"There was one in the music store that kept saying 'mama' and bit Tony's leg," Petra reported, casting a wary look around for dolls. "And there were a bunch in the back room, I don't even want to think what they've done, I just locked the door."

"I stole a knitting needle from sorority," Annie said helpfully. Rilla would totally get it back when the dolls were gone.

"Genius," Petra said approvingly. "I wish I'd had my knitting with me today. I took the broom from the shop but I upgraded to a crowbar when I got here." She hefted it demonstratively. Then she asked, "What are you guys knitting? I wish I could make it to the sorority this semester but I have work and then this, and, well," she shrugged. "But I can knit, so if you need any help or whatever...oh my god something moved in the corner no wait it's gone now. Wait. That doesn't actually make it any better, does it?"

Don't mind Annie, but she was going to get out her needle and then be just slightly rude as she paid more visual attention to anything that might be trying to kill them.

"I will stab it in the head, I swear I will," she said very, very seriously. And then in a more normal tone, "We're knitting things like socks and blankets for the soldiers on the front in Rilla's time. World War I and all."

"Oh, that sounds great," Petra said, also looking around for tiny evil dolls rather than, say, making eye contact with Annie or anything. She was sure Annie would understand. "I can't knit socks, but I keep meaning to learn sometime."

It was nothing, actually, but tell that to the paranoia.

"Ohmygod where, WHERE?" Petra asked, looking around and brandishing her crowbar.

Still scanning for movement, she said, "It's really easiest to start with rectangles. Maybe you could knit a soldier a scarf?"
