The pond has frozen over! And one clever entrepreneur has rushed in to take advantage of it. You can rent skates here and go for a round on the pond, or brave it on your normal shoes...

It'd been over a year since the last time Dolf had gotten to skate properly. He didn't mind ponying up some of his hard-earned money for a pair.

Soon, he was taking to the ice, half-pretending he was at home.

There were ice. And skates. Which meant Jon was there, having a blast.

At some point, he'd head over for food and drink. Right now, he was going to try and get a group together for a hockey game.

Ice skating on a pond? Like, an actual frozen pond? Instead of an indoor rink (and those were kind of dodgy places in Gotham anyway)?

Maybe she had to fork over money for it, but Stephanie paid for the skates and hit the ice. She was all over this experience, wheeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Well, look who escaped his lab. "Having fun?" Tony asked, skating around her.

Stephanie tried to do a little leap that went pretty well except for a whole lot of arm-flailing in mid-air.

"This is, literally, incredibly cool," she said exultantly. "It's nice of you to join the outside world for this."

Tony laughed, hand out if she needed it after her acrobatics. "Sometimes I go outside. Honest."

"And it takes so much out of you, you have to go back inside for a long time to recover?" Stephanie teased, grabbing for his hand.

Not that she needed it! Really! It just seemed like a thing you did when there was nighttime ice skating and a boyfriend.

"It's the sunlight," he assured her, spinning around her. Because someone loved skating. Like, a lot. "I'm secretly a vampire, don't tell anyone."

"One with an Olympic gold medal in figure skating?" Oh, Stephanie noticed. "Well. This makes things complicated, you realize."

"I remember my mom taking me out for this," Tony said with a fond little smile. "I kept it up after--"

He shrugged.

Stephanie squeezed his hand for that. "Yeah," she said, with a nod to suggest that she understood what he meant. "I think that's really sweet of you."

Tony skated a little closer, kissing her for that. "What about you?"

Quinn wasn't Michelle Kwan or anything, but her general physical grace extended to skating. She strapped on a pair of skates and started slowly going around the rink, concentrating on not falling on her ass.

So far, she was successful.

And might have continued to be so. Maybe even after Kenzi buzzed by, extra-fast, giggling gleefully. "Wooooo!"

"Hey!" Quinn shouted.

Then, also giggling, she took off after Kenzi, trying to catch up. She was young, she was alive, it was almost a New Year; she could play chase.
