Set up along long buffet tables not too far from the main bonfire, there's plenty of food to choose from, hearty stuff to get you through the winter. There's also cocoa, and for the more enterprising among you, there's a section dedicated to raw food to cook above one of the fires.

If Peter was going to be stuck here, he might as well stick to where the people were. So he loaded up with food and sat down here, keeping an eye out.

If this place was gonna keep giving him free food, Alec was gonna make fun of Jace for being fat next time he saw him. He'd work it off in the salle this place apparently had later or something. Right now he was gonna eat to his heart's content.

Food. Of course, Jake would be here and he would be roasting some sausages over the fire as his stomach rumbled in anticipation.

"Happy new year, Jake," Quinn told him, and sniffed the sausage-y air appreciatively. "Having fun?"

"There is free food that I can burn as much as I like," Jake waving a sausage on a stick at her. "My cavemen needs for the year have been officially fulfilled and I'm ready to move on to the next year."

Which could perhaps be translated as a sure. "So happy new year to you too. How have you been?"

"Now that the island isn't getting zapped into oblivion?" Quinn asked, but lightly. "Good. I went home for Christmas and it was .... really good to be someplace low-key."

She smiled. "You?"

"Yeah, I missed most of that. I went home with Caroline for a while as she didn't want to stay here. Then we went to Asheville for Christmas. So, I guess I haven't really been on the island much the past few weeks."

He considered the sausage on the stick again. "You want in on this?" The sausage. There was nothing dirty there.

"Pass," Quinn said, wrinkling her nose. "My resolution is to eat healthier."

There'd been stress. It had lead to junk food. She needed to get back on track, or thought she did.

"You didn't miss much," she added. "I mean, I didn't make it to the end, but from everything I hear it just kept getting more depressing. But. It's good to see you now."

"You'd still got a few hours before that resolution kicks in," Jake pointed out, but he was already taking a bite so clearly she had just lost her chance.

And then there was some chewing. "What do you mean you didn't make it to the end? Sorry, I'm kind of fuzzy on everything that went down." It happened when you forgot to leave your room.

Quinn let out a tight little laugh. "Yeah, so Puck punched some crazy people who were hassling us and vanished, and I went a little nuts, got drunk, went out for a revenge. I think I tripped or something and bam, no more me."

She shrugged, like it didn't really bother her.

"Came back two days later with a killer hangover."

"Fucked up is the best way to describe it," Quinn nodded. "And thanks. I'm really glad to see you, too. You guys had the right idea, getting out early."

"Yeah, though it was freaky not being able to contact anyone else," he made a face. "Um, I'd say here's to less weird stuff next year, but I don't think that's very likely?"

"I'm pretty sure I'm heading off after graduation," Quinn said, with a light smile. "So ... it'll have to be less weird, just because i won't be here."
