Now, Natalie was used to odd things happening around the island (even if the way the sky was looking at the current moment was not one of them). She was used to minor weirdness at the Perk, too, since the first time she'd walked in she'd had to have a long, long talk with an unnecessarily defensive barrista about how she was definitely not Kate and should therefore be allowed coffee. The right that she'd managed to claim that day was something she'd been taking advantage of a lot these past few weeks, and today was no different.
Except today was different, because there seemed to not actually be anyone working at the Perk today, though the doors were open. Natalie stood at the counter, waiting, for a while. When no one showed up or answered her calling politely out for service, she even let herself behind the counter to peer into the back room.
There was no one there. That was... that was a little unnerving. But maybe there'd been some kind of emergency. Something completely ordinary, at least by Fandom standards That was still possible, right? Natalie clung to that thought as she remained behind the counter for the moment, looking at the appliances and wondering if she could maybe make her own coffee if she left some money behind.
[ooc: Open like an open post in town tends to be! Mild SP warning from me, though. Darn end of fall semester...]
