At The Edges of the Forcefield, Tuesday Morning

Dec 06, 2011 10:00

At 6 AM during the night, it became visible just on the horizon: dark clouds, rolling in over the mainland. As the minutes ticked by, it rolled on closer, soundlessly devouring urban areas, farmland and water alike.

Closer and closer and closer it came, and by 7 AM it was nearly there. Just clouds, nothing to be seen beyond them, nibbling at the edges of the known world. Which was becoming smaller and smaller.

When it hit the field surrounding Fandom, there was no noise. No crash. No crack of thunder. It touched the blue almost-transparent barrier of energy, and the barrier flickered ominously for one endlessly long scrap of a second...

...and then the clouds simply slid over it, fully covering the shape of the dome within minutes, but coming no closer.

For now.
