Chuck was doing an excellent job blocking out the chittering of annoying teenage girls. Basically it took a lot of scotch and knowing that if things got too annoying he could go back into the office and lock the door. But for now he was sitting behind the bar, watching what was going on out of the corner of his eye and smacking Tino with his cane

Caroline had found herself a spot in the lounge that offered a good view of the establishment so she could sit back and enjoy a drink while she watched for people to arrive.

And order Tino around. That was so totally worth whatever smell the zombies were giving off. Nevermind she'd sprayed them down with Febreeze first thing, that stuff never seemed to last like the bottle said it would.

At least she looked hot and summery in her yellow dress, far from weather-appropriate, but screw that. Beauty was totally worth a little pain.

Miley had also gone with the summer look, so Caroline definitely wasn't the only one. Shirley Temple in hand, she slid into a chair next to her friend.

"Looking good so far, right?" she asked. "Bartender seems kinda grouchy, but other than that..."

"A little grouch is necessary. If anything, it gives us something to talk about besides how good we look. You know, since some people will just brand us shallow." Caroline sniffed at Miley's drink and sighed. So very Disney. "Saving the cocktails for after your song? Seems a little out of order."
