Displaced 3rd Floor Party!, The Beach, Friday Evening

As announced by the posters that had appeared around the dorms earlier in the week, there was a party on the beach this warm Friday evening. Or at least, there would be, once people arrived.

The setting was party-like enough, at least. Along with a lovingly modded Bod who'd been drafted in to carry stuff around, Kate had somehow managed to recruit

There are two tables. The food one has a selection of basic moddable party snacks, along with figs, dates and grapes. The one with the drinks has a fairly large array of different tropical juices, but also bottles of mead from the Vikings, and even Egyptian beer and wine.

Bod's glass was actually half full of mead. He didn't know how much of it he would actually drink or how it would affect him but he had promised to get spontaneously intoxicated, hadn't he?

He decided it was his reward for carrying things and helping Kate set up for her party.

Kate was kind of pleasantly intoxicated by the time she made her way back to him again. It was obvious from the slinky ease with which she carried herself, and the smirk on her face.

She'd buried a close friend this week. She wouldn't have managed to seem this happy without a little help from the drink table.

"Hullo, girlfriend," he said, giving her a smile. "Are you enjoying yourself tonight?"

"I invited them and they all came," she replied, making a sweeping gesture at the crowd with her drink-free hand. "It's awesome."

"Your party does seem to be a rousing success," Bod agreed with a laugh. "And they all look to be having fun too. It looks like all your planning paid off quite well."

"You're so intoxicated," he said, sounding amused. "And you're smiling."

Bod knew that smile was due to the intoxication but it was still nice to see. She'd probably lose it tomorrow so Bod was going to lean forward and kiss it now.

"And you're ruining it," she mumbled against his lips, "by kissing me."

Not that she really objected.

"Does that mean you'd like me to stop kissing you?" Bod wondered, smiling against her mouth. "I wasn't aware you were that attached to your smile."

Kate stepped closer and leaned a bit more into him. "No but you sounded so happy about my smile."

"Well, I was hoping that it would still be there after I'd finished kissing you too," Bod said and kissed her one more time. "I would hope my kiss didn't make your smile go away."

"No," Kate replied, and snagged one more kiss of her own before pulling back a bit to show off her smile. "See? Bright as ever."

"Very bright," he said, drawing his fingers through her hair and smiling. "I'm going to need to walk you home, aren't I?"

"Prooobably," Kate agreed, wrinkling her nose in thought. "It might be irresponsible of you not to."

"I'll walk you home," Bod said and thought that last icon up there was adoraaaaaaaaaable. "Are you going to go swimming? Please don't go without someone since you're intoxicated."
