Just before 6:00, the lights went dark and a sole zombie walked out onto the stage and sat down at a piano. The zombie then started playing The Final Countdown, followed by the other zombies

Mingle before getting started! Have someone harangue you into doing 3MD! Or maybe find out that Tino signed you up because you looked at him funny, or you didn't look at him funny enough, or he just wants to show that he knows your name!

Jaina had just come in to work. She hadn't showed up intending to participate in this at all. But once she'd been there a few minutes, she started thinking that maybe it wouldn't be a bad way to spend fifteen minutes. It wasn't like she'd had horrible experiences at these things before, so she ended up signing herself up for once.

Besides, if she didn't do it herself, Tino probably would have or something. Might as well have it be her idea.

Lucas was just coming into the bar for a drink when he saw the sign.

On one hand, he didn't need speed dating. On the other hand, he kind of wanted to see how many numbers he could pick up. And if everyone around here was as eager to 'hit the halfpipe' with him as that snowflake chick was a few weeks ago (and Lucas had absolutely no reason to think that wasn't the case), well, it would just be silly not to do it.

Tino had signed up Jessica, but she'd shrugged and gone with it. It might be fun to meet new people. Maybe she'd find a boy who liked getting bit or something.

She showed up right after sunset. No reason.

Jeremy hadn't planned to be here, nor had he planned to do speed dating. But he'd happened to come by when such an event was about to start and hey, he liked meeting new people, especially girls, and the bar didn't card.

He was happy and looked it too.

Alex had noticed a distinct lack of socializing in her life, and was going to remedy it by signing up for another round of this speed-dating. It couldn't hurt, right?

George ... had had an actual, real date last night. And was starting to admit that some of the people in Apathy Club, she might even consider to be friends.

She wasn't ready to show up here and announce that she'd come for the speed dating. She was perfectly happy to lie and pretend she'd been dragged into it. But ... here she was.
