An alley behind Caritas - Tuesday night

There was a flash of light and then Veronica found herself in the alley behind Caritas, Bel's hand still wrapped around her throat.

Remembering the self defense lesson he'd given her, she kicked out, aiming for his knee.

Angel dropped down from the rooftop above and landed on two feet.

He quickly took in the situation. "Tell me you got whatever it was."

Logan swung the gun around and pointed it at the new arrival, then relaxed when he recognized Angel. "Hit him. Didn't kill him," Logan said grimly. He ran over to check on Veronica.

Having to actually worry about breaking your neck meant an inability to just leap off buildings. Therefore Callisto showed up a short while after Angel. "What happened?"

Angel cocked his head, tasting the air. "That fire I smell? And how is she?"

"Bel attacked her," Logan said, answering both questions. He set the gun down and checked Veronica over. "I think she's all right," he said. "She just fainted."

"Belthazor" Callisto pinched the bridge of her nose. "Remind me again why we can't just kill him? It would save us a lot of annoyance."

"Because torture's going higher up on the list of appropriate punishments," Angel replied.

"Sounds like a plan to me," Logan said. He brushed a strand of blonde hair off Veronica's face and tucked it behind her ear. "Hey, Veronica, wanna go home?" She opened her eyes and looked at him, then nodded.

"I get dibs on the fireants and honey," Callisto said. "You guys need any help?"

"I've got her," Logan said. He helped Veronica to her feet and picked up his gun. "No idea where Bel went, unfortunately."

"If he shimmered, could be anywhere," Angel said. "But we can keep an eye out."

"Thanks," Logan said. "I'll get her back to the dorms." He lead a stunned Veronica back to his golf cart.

"So...know anywhere near here we could stash Bel if we find him?" Callisto asked.

"Put him in small enough pieces and we can stash him anywhere," Angel replied. He did not look happy.

"Could tie bricks to his feet and take him for a walk on the docks," Logan suggested. "Though he's got that damn teleport power, which makes things tricky."

"Could always try some sort of spell, to block that I suppose," Callisto rubbed her chin. "Maybe the tiny ninja who lives at the Sin might have some ideas, she seem to have cleaned up after that spree pretty well."
