Decorations, Zatanna had to keep doing the decorations, and magically pin them all over the store. Maybe add some fake snow over there, and make a Jack Frost over here... "Apu dear? Do we have a pine tree somewhere?" Then she would need to decorate the tree, of course. Apu just rolled his eyes and tried not to get showered in glitter as Zee walked around waving her hands. Christmas was always there and she needed to have everything in the store ready and oozing Christmas spirit, not because she needed to keep her mind busy from not having a thing to do, but because it was her work as an employee; the fact it made it easier not to think at all was only a collateral benefit, yes.
"Apu...have you ever used a white beard? Apu?" The man was no magician, but he had just pulled one damn fine desaparition act. "Oh fine, I'll have to...eh, make a Santa."
More work, less thinking. That was her motto. If the ligths had been nomral, she would have changed them herself. One less thing to do. Damn it, Fandom.
