A tiny, well-armed ninja appeared near the bonfire. She had marshmallows and straightened coathangers.

The shadowy figure admired the tiny ninja's ability to take advantage of a situation.

Barbossa was drawn to the fire as well. Burning might also mean pillaging, after all.

And it had been a long time since he'd gotten to pillage.

Also? Roasted marshmallows smelled good.

Miho turned her head slowly, eyes narrowing and nostrils flaring.

Pirate. The ancient enemy.

She deliberately set her marshmallow on fire and whirled to face him.

Becky arched a brow, and set her hands on her hips innocently.

Sure, she was reaching into her holsters, but who knew that? Aside from Miho, that is.

The shadowy figure watched with great interest, and kept a hand on their battle-axe.

After all, they liked listening to the pirate on the radio.

Barbossa suddenly wished he was dressed as a shrub. The faces looking at him were very unfriendly.

"Lovely night fer a spot o' burnin', aye?" he said lightly.

"Mmm," Becky said, playing with the triggers of her handguns. "Whatcha up to? Did you start the fires?"

The shadow figure leaned forward to listen and fell out of the tree they were hidhing in with a muffled "Frak me!"

Huh. Another talking shrubbery.

These things happen.

Barbossa gave a small wave at the undergrowth, then turned to address the girl speaking to him.

"Normally I be plunderin', then I be burnin'," he said. "But I be not sure thar be anythin' t' plunder in this town."

Miho jabbed her flaming marshmallow onna stick at the pirate.

Ah. The traditional feint with flaming sweets. He had heard tale of these sort of ninja ways on board.

If only he could remember what the correct response was.

He slowly reached for his bottle of rum.

Miho, mistakenly thinking the pirate was going for his sword, went for hers as well.

Oh, shit. Barbossa winced. Wrong move. And he was only going to be able to walk out of this if the Inverse Rule of Ninja Proportions came into play.

He looked around in vain hope for dozens of more ninjas to come and get in each others' way.

No dice.

But the pride, such as it was, of all pirates were on the line.

He couldn't turn tail and run.

"I was goin' t' offer ye some of me rum," he said. "Splash some on a marshmallow, ye get a much bigger flame."

Please, please don't kill me.

Miho considered this offer. She did like rum. And flambe. And it seemed that they were the only pirate and ninja in this town. It wouldn't be a fair fight without the rest of his shipmates. Perhaps a truce was in order.

Besides, the night was young.

She offered him a marshmallow onna stick.

Barbossa carefully took the marshmallow onna stick, then reached for his flask and doused it liberally.

He poked it into the fire.

Mmm. Flambe.

He smiled and held the flask out to Miho.
