Dite's Decadent Delights, Wednesday morning/early afternoon

After her morning class, Raven headed into town to 'Dite's shop, hoping to find it all back to normal. Well, as "normal" as the store ever was. But she was dismayed to find it was still the same as it had been Monday night when she'd picked up Karla, and she could still sense the lingering storm of negative emotions. She took a hesitant step inside, looking around for 'Dite. "Hello?" she called out. "Lady Aphrodite?"

'Dite heard Raven's call and headed for the front of the store. Stopping in the doorway between rooms, she looked down at the girl coldly, arms folded across her chest. "You're late. By a full day."

"I am very sorry," Raven said sincerely. "I spoke to Karla and she thought it would be best if I did not come in yesterday, for she thought you would be..." -- back to normal? Redecorating? -- "...busy with Professor Maximus."

'Dite went rigid, though just a little cold left her eyes. "I didn't see Max yesterday. And if you see Karla you can tell her from me that she needs to keep her mouth shut or she won't have a job here." With long strides she went to the desk, pulling out a package. "Here. This is your new uniform. Put it on and get to work. I need you to update the inventory of ball gags and masks."

Raven opened up the package and stared at the outfit. "I cannot wear this," she said. She hated to disobey her elders, but the outfit was making her blush before even putting it on.

"I can't wear this." Dite sneered. "Too bad. This is the uniform. I bet the people at MickeyD's aren't too happy about those smocks they wear. You want the job? You wear the uniform. Now go change." She turned and headed back toward the dungeon. "And if Max calls -- I'm not here."

Raven was torn between the urge to just flee and the fear of making 'Dite even more upset. The rage she was sensing from her was overpowering, and it took all her shielding to keep it from affecting her. Maybe if she stayed she could figure out a way to help Aphrodite and alleviate her anger. Something was terribly wrong, and it wasn't in her to just walk away and ignore the situation, no matter how embarrassed she was.

In the meantime, 'Dite's Decadent Delights was open, and the empath was doing her best to hide behind the counter.
