Max had arrived (gasp!) early to make sure that everything was ready. Since he wasn't planning anything too strenuous for the first meeting, he didn't really have much to prepare for. Now he just had to hope that some people actually showed up. Because it'd be pretty dang embarrassing if they didn't.

So Ash was trying to get out more. Plus this was going on at her job. So even though she didn't really need any instruction, she decided to stop by and see what was going on.

Max looked Ashley up and down consideringly. To his credit, and because of the nature of the class, it was only half appreciative of her figure. The other half was a careful examination of the way she stood, her build, and what those said about her fighting abilities.

Ashley gave him an appraising look of her own. In part because she was checking out his build and stance and trying to determine what that meant about his fighting abilities and in part because she wasn't blind and he was attractive.

No, they hadn't met yet but Ash had easily figured out he was the one in charge here.

"Hi. You're Max, right? I'm Ashley."

Ashley nodded. "Did you ever get to check out that Fight Club? By the time I heard about it, I couldn't make any of the meetings before they took some time off."

Ashley smiled back. "Not exactly," she admitted. "I don't really need training but I figured I'd stop by and see what was going on and maybe offer to help out."

She realized she hadn't introduced herself and her mother would kick her ass for forgetting her manners. "I'm Ashley Magnus."
