So. James was back this year. Steve didn't know what he thought about that. He did know he hadn't had a lot of time to think about that--he was down another microwave, and the TV

"She's very cute," Steve told him. "You're very cute," he told Aurore, because she was right there, and it seemed rude to just talk over her. Also, she was very cute. "Have you been good for your dad this weekend?"
She was cute and she knew it. But it was always nice to have it reaffirmed! "Merci," she said politely, in response to the compliment. As for the question: "I have been very good! I went 'sploring on my own a bit but not too far and met lots of people including a sister and 'nother sister and a brother sorta."
She was very cute, and she spoke French, and her name was Aurore. Huh. "Wow, that's a lot of siblings. I hope you didn't fight with them." Like...his kid appeared to be doing with Tony's kid right now.
"They're okay," Aurore confided. "Mostly." A little weird, but then they came from worlds where her parents were apparently not together, so that explained that. "You have kids too?" she had to ask. The Mr. Steve she knew at home didn't, but, you know, alternate universes.
"Mister Stark!" Aurore nodded. "We've met." And then on to the more important part: "James has two dads! Like me!"
"...What?" Bobby squeaked, doing a rather credible impression of a goldfish. "What?"
"I said I have two dads," Aurore just barely resisted the urge to roll her eyes. "No mommy. None. Don't need one. Daddy and Papa are 'nuff trouble as it is," she added in a conspiratorial aside to Steve.
"I bet they are," Steve said agreeably, while internally laughing and kind of feeling bad about finding this as funny as he did. "And I bet you keep them in line, huh?" He looked up from the tiny adorable child to Bobby. "This is news, son?"
"Well, yes, I mean-" no, Bobby, Captain America does not need to hear about your romantic life (or more accurately, pitiful attempts at having one). "I don't. I've never. What?" Yes, he was gonna be stuck there for a while.
"So I guess you didn't ask who her other parent was?" Well, Steve was sure Bobby had had his hands full. Speedster child. Northstar's speedster child. Shudder.
"I asked who her mom was," Bobby admitted. "Except every time I did she wouldn't say anything, just made... that face." He gestured to the girl currently sporting a rather epic bitchface for someone so small.
Steve looked down at the bitchface and had to laugh, because he totally recognized it from a certain professional acquaintance/former fellow teacher. "She gets that from her papa. Don't you, Aurore?"
"I can't make just one eyebrow go up," Aurore shared. "Yet." You can bet she was going to be spending hours in front of the mirror practicing once she got home though, thank you Arthur.
"So you... know him too?" Bobby asked. He supposed it made a certain amount of sense. Inasmuch as anything regarding the various different versions of his reality made sense. He and Steve had crossed paths (outside of school) a few times in the past, and apparently would in the future, so why wouldn't the present-him (oh god alternate realities made his head hurt) know the guy?
They would be hours she wasn't trying to jump off of things to see if she could fly yet, though. Her parents would probably appreciate it.
"We've met. At least, I'm pretty sure it's the person I'm thinking of."
Well, the only other candidate before Aurore mentioned her two daddies had pretty much been the sister, and at least Jean-Paul was sane. You know. Mostly.
"Mister Steeeeeeeeve!" Aurore shrieked excitedly, breaking in to a run towards him. "Hi!"

Wow, she was fast, wasn't she?

"Uh," Bobby gave an awkward little wave. "Hey. That'd be Aurore. She's... mine. Sort of."
