The Pond, Wednesday Late Afternoon

The weather was far more to Robin's liking these days. Though it wasn't quite as humid as he preferred. Still, it was perfect weather for swimming in the pond.

There was a tiny towel resting on the lobster statue, while the frog splashed about.

[For Momoko, but open to all.]

Momoko sighed. Finally! She'd checked her voicemail this morning and been looking for her green friend ever since.

"Robin! Hey!" She waved her arms to get his attention, then found a good spot to sit and wait.

Robin had been resting on a lily pad when he spotted her. "Hi Momoko!" quick swim brought him to shore. "How are you?"

"I'm fine! You look like you're having fun!" She grinned and reached over to grab his towel and hand it to him. "You can really sit on lily pads? That's awesome!"

[robinthefrog]

"I'm not very heavy." he said modestly, taking the towel. He dried himself off, then hopped up onto the statue. "Uhm, did you get my message?"

"Ah! I did! But I didn't get it until this morning. Or I mean, I didn't listen to it until this morning?"

She sighed and gave him a weak smile. "But I asked someone already. I'm sorry, Robin."

[robinthefrog]

Again?! Every time!!

"Oh." he said, seeming to shrink into himself a bit. "Okay."

[heromaniac]

"Robin! Don't think it's your fault! You totally are thinking that, I know you are!" She shook a finger at him. "It was just bad timing! Well, and I never expected anyone to actually ask me."

[robinthefrog]

"Why didn't you expect anyone to ask you?"

[heromaniac]

"Because no one has ever asked me to a dance? You're the first one!"

[robinthefrog]

"Well that was kinda stupid silly of everyone else."

[heromaniac]

"I think so, too, but it's true! Even to just regular dances and stuff, I've always been the one to ask." She looked out at the pond. "I guess I got too used to it; I never even considered somebody would want to ask me."

[robinthefrog]

Well it was the 21st century after all. "I really need to work on my timing."

[heromaniac]

Momoko looked over and grinned. "You are still going, right? I totally owe you a dance now! At least one."

[robinthefrog]

"Oh sure!" He always went to the dances. They were still a good time even without a date. He avoided asking who she'd asked. "I'll be there, I've got a tux and everything."
