The first thing that Angua noticed this morning when she woke up was that something was wrong...decidedly wrong...with the air. It was kind of hard not to notice it, really, with a nose like hers, and, even if she couldn't quite discern what it was or what it might do, she knew that it was at least annoying the her hypersensitive sense of scent. The fog didn't very much bother the thing that was skittering towards Angua. It knew what to expect, when to expect and could combat it. So, the creature was coming at Angua quickly despite not actually seeing her.

She was just going to be a surprise on the way to where he was actually going.

And even though Angua could pick up on the scent of something coming through the fog, she was pretty surprised herself. It didn't at all help that, whatever it was, it made absolutely no sense. There were parts of it that made sense, but the sum of the parts was a very confusing cacophany of aromas in her nose.

And, at first, she thought maybe the fog was messing with her otherwise very good vision, but, no. No. She was seeing coming at her, very quickly, precisely what she was smelling.

Which still didn't make any sense.

Ignoring the little niggling notion to just crouch down, brace herself, and leap at the thing when it got close enough, Angua still crouched down and braced herself; after carefully trying to negotiate being where it was not going to be.

It took the monkeypony a few moments to recognize that something was going to impede it's progress. Something was going to stop it from its ultimate goal and that was just not going to work.

It stopped a few feet in front of the wolf, letting the fog conceal him and not knowing that Angua's sense of smell would give away his continued presence.

Angua lifted her wolfish brows as the creature stopped, noting how it paused and waited as if to hide in the fog surrounding it. So the thing was as stupid as it looked.

But it was using the fog; she certainly hadn't smelled any monkeyponies before the fog, so there was a good chance they were related. To test these new thoughts, she gave a low, menacing growl, to alert it of her presence, and possibly to see if they took it as a challenge.

She just hoped it didn't sound too much. You could easily overdo the menacing growl.

Castiel was out for a walk, which wasn't entirely unusual. The fact that said walk was also to attempt to pinpoint the source of the disquiet he'd been sensing since the early morning wasn't as usual.

He really hoped he wasn't about to turn into plastic again. He had things to do. He didn't know what they were yet, but he was certain that he did.

The monkeypony was also mostly out for a walk, enjoying the freedom of snorting in deep droughts of foggy air and shaking her tail and mane as she galloped. Looking for her creator had turned into a bout of sight-seeing.

Too bad there weren't many sights to see on the island just now.

When she spotted the humanoid, she plucked a pine cone off a nearby tree and tossed it at him, mostly to see what would happen. Maybe it wanted to play!

Castiel had been peering into the fog in the opposite direction, and as such, was smacked upside the head by the pine cone.

Odd. He was fairly certain those didn't fly.

He turned to look for the source.

He'd probably notice a bout of monkey chitters and hoots coming from just behind him, getting closer and closer ....

And now going past him until she skidded to a stop and turned to face him. Oops. She almost overshot her goal.

"Ooooh ooooh ahhh aaah oooh. Aaaah?"

In monkeypony, she'd just warned him to flee before she was forced to challenge him to a battle.
