Once again, Adrian hadn't turned into anything this weekend, and instead got to watch everyone else be insane. For that reason, he loved this town. And he got to work the bar on Monday, meaning anyone who stopped in was going to get one of those knowing looks from someone who listened to radio ( Read more... )

Tino is seriously reluctant to serve any more Coors. Adrian can't imagine why, really.

There was a whole list of things stopping Dimitri from getting very crabby with Adrian today, first and foremost being that he was a professional and would not go against his Promise to serve and protect the Moroi.

Even if said Moroi had encouraged far too much sharing about nudism over the insane weekend. And tried to give him the cat again. There would be a lot of stone-faced lurking at Dimitri's end of the bar tonight. Assuming he was able to ignore Adrian.

After getting Adrian's modded w/permission okay, Rose approached Dimitri a little bit tentatively. "Can I talk to you for a second?" she asked.

It was silly to be nervous. Silly. Only she absolutely was, and while Rose didn't think that Dimitri would turn her down flatly, she kept picturing it. When she wasn't picturing how Mason looked under that tree. It wasn't really a good night, no.

Aware that she knew the rules and that she'd been speaking with Adrian didn't mean that Dimitri had to go along with anything. Even with that nervous look about her.

"I'm working," he replied gruffly, looking off to her right, intent on not having whatever bizarre conversation she was looking for in this establishment while Adrian of all people was within earshot.

"Really?" she asked sarcastically. ...smart, Rose, smart. "I totally didn't notice."

Rose took a breath, making a little face. "Could step outside. There's only one entrance, and Adrian's fine with it."

She'd had her chance this morning to deal with this and she'd blown him off. True, he understood she needed time, but maybe he did, too.

"Is there a point?" Dimitri asked, lowering himself to the point of tossing her words back at her, albeit with a calmer tone.

Rose actually managed to bite back the first response of How adult of you, Dimitri. She actually was a little impressed with herself.

She turned, making totally sure Adrian couldn't somehow read her lips or hear her. "Yeah," she said, her eyes imploring him to assent. "Or - I hope so."

As much potential as there was to go down the same dark path from the morning, the look in her eyes gave him pause.

"Okay," he assented, not showing the concern he was feeling for the situation. "Lead the way."

Adrian would be over here mocking. He would.

But Dimitri'd been all naked by the pond yesterday and he was still working on repressing that. Working very, very hard at repressing that.

Dimitri would not respond to any mocking. He wouldn't. Years of practice dealing with annoying Moroi in and out of court made him capable of paying attention only to the important things.

And yet somehow he could feel the tug of annoyance within. It wasn't fair the way Fandom's weirdness could do that.

Adrian let Dimitri do his thing right up until he got back from outside with Rose. And then Adrian was checking the clock. "Before curfew, good job."

Dimitri lifted an eyebrow, not knowing where that had come from. "Was there a time limit Rose failed to mention?" Dimitri should know better than to engage in this conversation.

"Before pumpkin time, that's all that matters." No, he wasn't explaining. "You know, the last time I saw you in this bar..."

"You encouraged conversation that was ethically dubious," Dimitri finished, miraculously managing not to outright frown at Adrian.

"I didn't have to encourage much. Especially considering yesterday I was minding my own business and now I need therapy." Therapy could probably not help him.

Dimitri remembered some future insanity that could use therapy as well. "I've heard the affection of a pet is almost as good as a therapist."
