"I honestly thought you might have been joking about this," he said.

"I honestly didn't think you'd show," Dimitri replied. "No cat guard with you today?"

"Somehow I thought it would cramp my style here. Being in a pool hall kind of does that already," he admitted.

Dimitri expected Adrian to light up and get the place smokey as hell in no time, thus finding his style once again. "Not a fan of the game?"

Oh, he would. He definitely would. "Mostly I've seen it played. Looks good on television at least..."

"I admit, I'm surprised," Dimitri said. "Pool seems like a sport right up your alley. Very little movement."

Adrian was far more amused than insulted. "Did you just try to burn me?" he asked.

Completely. "I don't know what you mean," Dimitri deadpanned.

"Of course you don't. I might watch today. I'm more of a spectator when it comes to this sort of thing. And I'd rather not have to put my cigarette down for it." Because there he was, lighting up as expected.

"I'm concerned about the health of those around you," Dimitri clarified. "We share the air."

Adrian waved his hand to keep the smoke away from Dimitri. "Better?"

"Much," Dimitri replied, one eyebrow arching high. "And you were serious about just watching?"

Nothing said stalker like coming to see your guardian play pool.

Imagine if it was Rose. At least Dimitri wasn't getting checked out. "And enjoying the company," Adrian said. And a night away from the god damn cat. "If this is where the people are, here I will be."

Dimitri would rather not imagine it was Rose. Well, he wouldn't mind if Rose was there instead of Adrian. That would be just fine.

He did not comment on his new status as a person. "That's very social of you."
