"We are here for dinner, and for introductions. This would be Joan, Miss Lulu. We are mimes together. Tonight. And usually."

She led them back to a table in the corner, a little more private than most, and laid the menus on the table. "Can I get you anything to drink?" she asked. "Do you both drink wine? Or would you prefer something non-alcoholic this evening?"

He had something saved that he was planning on giving her after the appetizers.

She placed a pitcher on the table, one that held a sparkling, deeply-red coloured beverage. "It's not quite diet," she explained, "but I'm sure you'll enjoy it, both of you. Have you decided on entrees, or do you need a little more time?"
