The Church, Saturday Afternoon

Dec 05, 2009 12:20

Karla walked, yes walked, into the Church. God, it felt so GOOD to be free from those annoying and painful braces, free to finally move around with grace and freedom. It was a miracle, an honest and true miracle, that had freed her from the dreaded injuries that had made her unable to walk unaided ( Read more... )

The first thing that occurred to Arthur when he finally made it to the pew - after that unfortunate detour by JGoBs, which had looked disturbingly churchlike and he wasn't even going to think about it - was not in fact 'oh look, I've found my errant idiot', but rather 'oh god, I've just seen more of her than I ever wanted to. Ever'.

Which would explain why he stopped halfway in and said, in a tone far more concerned than he'd ever admit, "Karla. You seem to have lost something. Do you need a shirt?"

Beat. Without looking at him. Because seriously. Brain bleach.

"Merlin, get her a shirt."

"Do I know you?" Merlin asked with a cruel sneer. "Who sent you? Was it that fool Anakin? I should have known he'd be so stupid to send a boy to kill me!"

"A shirt? Please honey, like I'd have to hide these," Karla sniffed, outlining her chest with slow hands.

She glanced up at Merlin and shook her hair again. "I can get rid of him if you want, Master. Just say the word and it's done."

"Yes," Arthur snapped back at her, "Please hide them. Hide them immediately." He shot Merlin a look that simply exuded sheer bloody offense on all levels. "A boy, Merlin?" he shot back. "A boy? I can kill a deer from a hundred paces. You can barely tie your own shoelaces without sinking through your dainty bloody legs."

This was not a time to get distracted, Arthur.

"A deer." Merlin scoffed like the best of nobility. HE WAS A BASS-STARK.

"What do you know of death?"

"Not everyone has the stomach for your manly delights, Master," Karla cooed, while shooting that miserable male a nasty glare for suggesting that she hide her feminine attributes. "Let the boy continue to play with animals. You have more important things to focus on."

She knelt at Merlin's feet, turning to glare at Arthur even as her body yearned towards her dark master. "I can teach him about death if you wish. It might even be fun. Kiss kiss," she said, batting her eyes at Arthur.

"I kill things. A lot," Arthur said, in that way that pretty much implied read my lips. "Don't tell me the both of you have lost your sanity as well. Although I'm impressed, Merlin, I didn't know you had any left."

"Right away, Master," Karla said, drawing away from him and slinking towards Arthur. Halfway to him, she began doing a serious of flips and gymastic twirls, an amazing feat for a girl who hadn't been able to walk unaided until the very end of the previous episode.

"Too bad you have to die, cutie," Karla drawled. "You could have seen the Master take over the entire island. Perhaps even served him. Now it's too late for you, however. Shuggoth!" She lifted a hand and a beam of light shot out from her palm.

... She was magically shooting a beam of light at him. Right. Okay. There was a slight gleaming in his eye. He was very much intimidated. Really.

His bitchface, it was epic, and fully aimed at Karla.

Then he turned his eyes back to Merlin. "Merlin," he said, "You will cease this foolishness at once." Beat. "Don't tell me this is about the thing with the arm. I thought you got over that."

Merlin gasped in horror. "I was young! I never meant to do that! Did my father send you?! Was it Chuck? I knew I couldn't trust him!"

Karla did a round-off, and shot more light at him. "I think he's magically protected, Master!" she said, trying not to panic. "He must have been sent by one of your enemies to take you out!"

"I wasn't talking about-- I meant--" Last night. "The other night," Arthur said, smoothly, darting a look at Karla. "What does Chuck have to do with thi-- you know what, it doesn't matter. Let's just find the sorcerer who came up with all this."

"You'll never stop us!"

Yeah, that would work.

"Your life is forfeit, fool peasant!" Karla declared, flashing a pose that was both intimidating and sexy in her leather catsuit. "You'd best flee before I truly lose my temper!"

"I'm not trying to stop anything," Arthur said, wincing at the pose. Ew. "Beyond this-- this..."

He groped around for the right word.

He had to settle for modern.

"--Fuckery," he said, sternly. "Which you are going to end on your end. Now."
