Castiel looked a little grumpy up at the pulpit, today.

"There are many things," he said, "which humanity does which I simply . . . do not comprehend. I'm told that there are many things that I say and do which humanity doesn't comprehend, so I suppose this is fair, but I thought I would talk about one of the human things today.

Arthur? Schadenfreude? Well. For the tiny things in life, definitely.

Suffering beyond force-feeding people rat stew or making them clean your armour or putting them in the stocks, though...

Arthur had a thoughtful expression on his face.

"I think I'm glad he doesn't give his sermons on Sunday," Francine murmured. "My mom wouldn't have dealt real well on Parents Weekend with the idea that angels might like to watch humanity suffer."

Not that she was all that pleased with it either, though it provided a disturbing possible answer to some of her questions about why horrible things happened.

Arthur's mouth pulled up. It wasn't a smile. More of a grimace. "If Castiel is to be believed," he said, finally, and cautiously. Speaking ill of an angel, and all that.
