It was a good thing that no one have come to visit him, even without the timeline dangers. Leto didn't want to think about introducing aunt Alia to this place and having her talk to his teachers. Even Stilgar or Harah would have been a little difficult, and he could imagine endless tirades from Harah about wasting water.

He had ordered a coffee and ( Read more... )

Seeing all the visitors in Fandom made Simon feel lonely. He wasn't one to brood though, rather the type who turned to too much work when feelings like that hit, but today wasn't his day at the clinic. Instead he had at least decided to leave the house, and after ordering a large cup of tea he sat down at a table, idly skimming through a medical journal, making exclamation marks in the margin at all the faulty conclusions.

"Simon!" Dinah came in with Helena, and brightened when she saw him. "Hi! Helena, this is Simon, I told you about him."

"You did," Helena agreed with a grin as she pointedly, and teasingly, looked him over.

Simon looked up, a little surprised at the sudden interruption. "Hello, Dinah!" he said. "You did?" Then he looked at the woman with her, and rose from his chair, extending a hand. "Simon Tam. I don't know what she told you."

"Only a little bit," Dinah said, looking like the picture of mischievousness. "That you're nice and your sister used to go here, and-- what else, Helena?"

Helena took his hand with a warm smile. "Let's see... you mentioned that he was quite charming and shy, but failed to tell me that he was good looking too."

"Uh, ok." Simon looked from Helena to Dinah and back to Helena and quite forgot to drop her hand.

Dinah choked back giggles as she flipped the pages of his journal, and said, "And that you're a doctor. And have kinda been a big brother to me here. Can we sit down for a sec?" She had so not told Helena about that encounter during Hormone Week. No no no.

Which was probably a good thing for everyone involved. Except for Helena, because that would have been funny.

Helena, for her part, glanced down at Simon's still-extended hand and then back up to shoot him a grin.

"Of course!" Finally realising that it was time to drop that hand, Simon quickly sat down again. "So, how do you find Fandom?" he asked Helena in an attempt at conversation.

Dinah sat down and tried to look angelic. Not like a very amused little sister.

Helena couldn't help shooting Simon a flirtatious grin. "I've enjoyed it so far. The scenery's pretty nice."

Luckily for Simon he was oblivious to that. "Oh, yes, it is. The sea is marvellous. And I've spent a few years on a spaceship, so all the fresh air is quite nice." He sipped his tea, glancing at Dinah and hoping she hadn't mentioned the incident with the child.

"His sister, River, is out there. I think I told you about her." Dinah grinned at Simon, amused. "See, now, wouldn't you want him for a brother-in-law?"

Sorry, Simon.

"You...! He looked at Dinah, then shook his head as he turned to Helena. "I assure you I never... I mean there was nothing..."
