Weekends away could do wonders for Jaina's mood, which meant she was okay after last week's trip. But between the message waiting for her from Jacen when she got back to Fandom and wanting to avoid her grandfather, there had been better Sundays.

"Firekeeper," Arthur greeted, because it had been a while. The name still rolled somewhat awkwardly off his tongue, but he was just going to pretend like it didn't.

Arthur gave a cursory (if necessary) roll of his eyes at that comment, but said nothing. "How've the past few weeks seen you?"

"Pain is good teacher," she had to agree. "Does not mean I seek it for no reason. Is hard to hunt when injured." And not hunting meant not eating, which most likely meant death. "This shape-stealing is too close to wicked magic from my home. I do not like it at all."
